Yesterday at Dressability we took a break with a light lunch, to say a BIG thank you to all our volunteers.

Amazingly last year, our volunteers donated 1124 hours of their time to Dressability, bringing with them a host of skills which help Dressability enormously to provide its services to our clients.

We also wanted to say a big thank you to Tony, Rose, Judy and Jane for giving us 10 years’ service as volunteers, a massive gift for them to give…

If you have a few hours to spare a week and would like to be part of our volunteers team or would be happy to raise funds for us, please do get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.

One of our lovely talented volunteers has been busy making beautiful handmade items to sell at our craft stalls this year.

There’s plenty of items to buy to treat yourself or gift to that special person!

When one of our team’s young grandson fell from a swing and broke his leg, he was unable to wear his existing clothes because his leg was in plaster and it was especially difficult to get small undergarments on.

Dressability adapted them so he could keep his dignity in a painless manner.

It got us to thinking that it’s not just long-term disabilities we can help with but also for the short term needs too. If you are having trouble with clothing due to medical aids being worn, in the short term or in the long term, do get in touch as we may just have a solution to make your life a little easier.

What an absolute honour and privilege for two of our Dressability staff and two of our valued volunteers to be guests of The Prince of Wales Charitable Fund at the Coronation Concert.  The PWCF have funded us over the past year which has been much appreciated.

A huge thank you to the Operations Manager, Yvonne Abba-Opoku for inviting us.  It was lovely to meet Yvonne at the event and to be able to thank her personally on behalf of Dressability for their support.  We also had an opportunity to speak with another charity, Omega, who also support elderly people @ https://omega.uk.net/about/

It was a magical experience and what a thrill for our colleagues to see King Charles III, along with other members of the Royal Family throughout the night.

Our lovely friends from the The Openwork Foundation have been in at Dressability this week decorating our slightly tired offices.

A huge big thank you goes out to all the lovely people who donated their time and materials to help us provide an environment from which our staff and volunteers can continue to provide our amazing service adapting clothing for those with disabilities and limited dexterity.
