When Kay Sharpe, Secretary to the Support Group of Ridgeway Breast Care Support Group approached Debbie Vincent of the Rotary Club of Swindon, to ask if Debbie knew of any organisations that could sew drain bags, she immediately thought of us.
The bags will be used by anyone who has received a diagnosis of breast cancer in Swindon and the surrounding area and will be taken to both Great Western Hospital and Ridgeway Hospital for them to distribute to anyone who has had surgery.
Patients are also provided with comfort bags which have small cushions, colouring books, crayons, sherbet lemons (to help with loss of taste due to chemo) and tissues.
We were delighted to help and with a very kind donation of pretty material, we were able to make 80+ bags.
