High Praise indeed from the Rt Hon Robert Buckland QC MP

Robert has personally thanked everyone at Dressability on his social media pages and will be including the following in his Adver column next week.

He was quoted as saying:

“Dressability is a fantastic local charity formed here in my constituency of South Swindon in 1998. It is one of only two independent clothing services in the UK, which caters specifically for the needs of disabled people.

Over the past twenty-two years, Dressability has been working hard with other local voluntary organisations, disability support groups, social workers and healthcare professionals to provide clothing for people with physical disabilities, learning difficulties and the elderly.

The amazing staff and volunteers at Dressability have made and delivered over one thousand items of PPE to Care Homes, Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Prospect Hospice over the past month. They have made masks, covid testing sleeves and moisture-proof gowns after the decision was made not to furlough sewing staff so that they could support the local community.

Over the years, I have supported this local charity and recently run the Swindon Half Marathon to fundraise for them. We are extremely fortunate to have this charity here in Swindon and I am asking local residents to join me and show their support for them, particularly at this difficult time.
