National volunteers’ week

A big shout out to our volunteers

Thank you to everyone who has continued to support us over the last year whether that’s on admin, sewing, projects or anything else.  Your contribution makes a huge difference in our community and is very much appreciated.

A day in the life of…

My name is Sam and I started at Dressability as an Administrator in December 2020 – I have an extensive administrative and accounting background along with a caring, empathic approach to people.

Although it was a bit of a shaky start due to coming out of the November lock down and then going into another one in January 2021, once back into the office, I started to meet the very talented dressmakers and some of the fantastic volunteers.  It confirmed that Dressability is clearly a very professional and friendly place to work.

The work that is done here is absolutely amazing – the skills of the dressmakers and seamstresses are so impressive that often you cannot tell what alterations have been made.   This is so important to our clients – that they are still able to wear the clothes that they wish to wear.  The bespoke alterations also gives them the freedom and independence to continue dressing themselves.

I love the admin work I do here especially because I know that it is part of something much bigger.   I am so glad that I am able to put my knowledge and skills to such a deserving cause.
