What We Offer

We offer a unique service for children and adults with disabilities and the over 65's

Our clients range from those who just have limited mobility in their hands, to those who rely on their carers to dress them each day.

All of them have their own particular requirements. While some people need alternative fastening to zips and button others may require wider openings for ease of dressing and to access medical aids. Sometimes we have to approach the problem from a completely different angle. From overcoats to underwear, there are ways to adapt clothing to meet the needs of each individual.

Few examples of garment alterations

We have shortened sleeves on this shirt but also brought the sleeves in to form a tighter fit around Andy's arms so they don't gape open.

This coat was adapted for a teenager who uses a moulded wheelchair - the side zip opening allows her carer to dress her without causing pain and stress.

For the over 65's

Replacing a broken zip, shortening a hem or replacing elastic in a waistband can lengthen the life of clothing and it is usually more economical than buying a new garment.

However, these days not only is it becoming harder to find clothing alteration and repair services, but for older people with limited mobility getting to and from those locations can also be a problem.  We offer a free home service to those that are unable to visit our premises.

The zip on these trousers has been removed and replaced with Velcro for ease of use.

Buttons can be removed and can be replaced with Velcro or self-sealing magnets.
